Homestay in Halifax, Canada
Derek and myself have been hosting students since 2003. We usually have students who come to Halifax to learn English in one of Halifax’s
Language schools.
We live in Halifax close to all universities and shopping center. It is approximately a 15-20 minute bus ride to school, and approximately 7 minute
Walk to the shopping center.
Our neighbourhood is fairly quiet with a mixture of both young and old families .
Derek has one adult married son who lives about 25 minutes away.
We are homestay parents because we enjoy meeting young people from various countries, learning about their cultures.
We also love to share our love of Canada with the students.
We ar3 both non smokers and have no pets.
Our travels have taken us across Canada and United States . I have been to the Caribbean islands numerous times while
Derek has vacationed in Europe to a few countries .
Derek and myself enjoy boating on the ocean around Nova Scotia. Golfing and cooking is also enjoyed by Derek.
I love to work in my garden and bake desserts. I have a piano in my home though I have not played lately.
I work with children .
