Homestay in Montreal, Canada
Hello: I am offering a fully furnished closed bedroom in my 2nd-floor walk-up to share with only one other person (me) in my tasteful and comfortable apartment in the heart of Mile-End. The room has a twin-sized bed, desk, night table, lamps, small flat-screen TV, and large dresser. All-in: $1000/month.
As you will be my roommate, I'd prefer someone who is a full-time student or faculty member, who’s studying, attending classes or working at school during the day, or requiring a city pied-à-terre. Utilities, cable, high-speed internet and laser printer access are included along with bedding linens and towels. Large shared bathroom with washer & dryer, fully equipped shared kitchen and comfortable living room with 55” TV at your disposal. As I'm an early riser, I will include a light breakfast with gourmet coffee or latte. I am also a pretty good cook and would be happy to work out other shared meal arrangements.
The Mile-End location is combined less than a half-hour bus ride and short walk to McGill main campus. Bicycle paths make it even faster; many Bixi bike-share stations are within a block. Neighbourhood amenities include all types of restaurants, take-outs, cafes, bookshops, boutiques, pubs, grocers and more. Famous Montreal smoked meat nearby; 24-hour bagels around the corner! Time-Out listed Mile-End as the #5 in “the coolest neighbourhoods in the world” (#1 in Canada!)
I am a straight, retired music industry executive, non-tobacco smoker, open-minded, politically and socially leaning left and would appreciate a roommate who respects those qualities who is also relatively quiet, tidy and cleans up after themselves. My home is not a student co-op nor party place – it’s just myself with you, the one potential serious roommate.
