Greetings from Canada. My name is Derek. I have 2 bedrooms available for students on the upper floor of my home. Also on the upper floor is a shared kitchen and bathroom which includes a Jacuzzi bathtub with a shower. I also have 1 room on the main floor of my home. I live very close to the heart of the city and live across from a park. Public transit is a few minutes from my home and will take you anywhere you wish to go in the city. I also have a backyard hot tub that you may have access to. My home is very quiet making it ideal for when you need to study. You will also have access to my washing machine and dryer for a cost of $5 per load.

I am a spiritual being thoroughly enjoying my time here on mother earth. I practice Yoga and meditation. I work for Canada Post as a letter carrier supervisor. I love to travel exploring the contrast of different cultures and traditions. I have been to India on 3 different occasions, New Zealand, Israel, Ireland, Scotland and have traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States. Seva or service to others is an important aspect of my life which is why running a homestay appeals to me. I enjoy meeting and helping new people while offering an environment that fosters the students spirit to excel.

I play tennis every chance I get and ride my motorcycle as often as I can. I go up to our cottage often to soak up the stillness and mother nature. If schedules permit you may have an opportunity to visit the cottage at some point during your stay. I have turned my backyard into my oasis and love to spend quiet time there just listening to all the sounds. I have an outdoor hot tub that you may use by appointment. The only rule is you must shower all the dirt and oils off your body prior to enjoying a nice hot soak.

As far as pricing I have found with all of my guests that most prefer to fend for themselves when it comes to meals. Upstairs in room #1 and room #2 you would have access to a full kitchen and a full bathroom that you share with 1 other guest and the monthly fee for all 3 rooms that I have would be $800 per month. If you wish I could supply you with breakfast and dinner. The monthly fee with these 2 meals included would be $1000 per month. Room #3 is on the main floor of my home which means that you share our bathroom with my wife Claire and myself. You would have access to our kitchen.
