I am running a homestay because exchange students bring new perspectives and ideas, and they often have a deep interest in learning about the host country. Hosting can provide a mutual educational experience for both the student and the host family, fostering open-mindedness and curiosity. Being a host family is a form to build lasting bonds with their exchange students. We can stay in touch for years, sometimes visiting each other across the globe, creating meaningful, lifelong friendships.
I live 20 minutes from downtown San Diego, 20 minutes to San Diego State, and no more than 25 minutes to all the local colleges.
I have visited multiple countries, such as Mexico, Costa Rica, and Europe. My hobbies are hiking, cooking, and hanging out with my family and friends. I belong to the IVHQ program, which allowed me to stay with a family in Costa Rica, so I know what it feels like to stay with a host family.
I am a government employee, which makes it easier to have safe rules.
No smoking of any substance inside or outside the house, no parties, no bringing strangers to the house, and keep the areas you use clean. The house is in a safe community where the neighbors know and protect each other.
We are a hardworking family that embraces peace and education. The exchange student will feel safe.
