We're Lekui and Vincent, two self-employed artists who have discovered that our Montreal home becomes something special when shared with like-minded travellers. Lekui is a visual artist with extensive experience in commercial and artistic photography who creates books that tell deep human stories, while Vincent works as a graphic designer, photographer, and videographer, and runs the editorial of an art magazine. When circumstances pushed us to move from Hangzhou to Montreal during the early pandemic, we found ourselves naturally drawn to hosting guests who appreciate the deeper exchanges that happen when creative minds meet around a dinner table.
Our home is truly a lived-in artistic space where work and life intertwine – books and paintings line every wall, ongoing projects occupy corners and table surfaces, and conversations naturally drift toward art, culture, and philosophy. As a couple, we believe we complement each other drastically: Lekui is the spontaneous one who sings on the streets and strikes up conversations with strangers on the street and might invite them home for tea, while Vincent is more reserved initially but opens up through thoughtful discussions about philosophy, technology, politics, or creative processes. Between our French, English, and Mandarin, we've welcomed nearly a hundred guests since 2022 who connect with different aspects of our personalities – some gravite more toward Lekui's instinctive warmth and cultural curiosity, others toward Vincent's more grounded but equally passionate approach to art and ideas. We adapt to each guest's rhythm, offering everything from detailed local recommendations to quiet creative space, with shared meals and collaborative moments emerging organically based on everyone's interests and schedules.
Our anchor on the notorious "Plateau" is perfectly situated for exploring the "big village" that is Montreal – close to the city's best cafés, galleries, and cultural attractions – but what makes staying with us special goes beyond convenience. We're drawn to hosting travellers who are genuinely curious about people and places, whether you're here for tourism, work, or creative pursuits.
