We are a multicultural and ethnic family who have been hosting high school and college-aged students from Japan since 2007. Languages spoken at home are English, Mandarin, and French. Our meals consist of a mixture of traditional Chinese and Canadian foods. We live in a residential community in the southwest region of the city of Ottawa. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the center of Ottawa by city bus.
I am a Special Education Teacher specialist and Intermediate Teacher. I also teach English and Math to grade 7 students. I also have experience teaching English at the Sino-Canadian International College at Guangxi University in Nanning, China. My wife is from China and has experience cutting hair and is certified in making sushi and speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. Our 17-year-old son is trilingual, (English, French, and Mandarin), is a passionate hockey player, and is in the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserves.
Because we are a busy family, we would appreciate having someone who really wants to become a family member. This entails keeping your living area clean. We will do our very best to help you achieve your personal goals and have some fun living so far away from home. Finally, each member of our family has been fully vaccinated against the Covid virus.
