My husband works from home and I work downtown 3 days per week. We are parents of 3 adult married children and grandparents of 7, we have a well-decorated, comfortable basement suite to offer a student who is interested in joining us while studying in Ottawa.
Our privately-owned home is located on a tree-lined street in a mature, suburban area of Ottawa and is almost directly across from a public transportation bus stop that will take you to the downtown core close to the University of Ottawa. The travel time is approximately a 20-minute bus ride by OC Transpo bus service.
We are ready to provide meals or not, your choice. If you wish meals, please add $300.00 per month to the rent.
We do not smoke nor do we permit smoking in our home. Our home accommodation includes the following:
INTERNET ACCESS:
• WIFI available
• You must supply your own computer (i.e. laptop/iPad)
• A cell phone will most likely require a service provider contract while in Ottawa.
BEDROOM:
• 1 King Size Bed and Bed Linen
• 2 Side Tables
• 2 Side Table Lamps
• A 5-drawer dresser
• A large clothes closet with vertical shelving
• 1 Cedar Chest at the foot of the bed
• 1 Study Desk with lamp and chair
LIVING ROOM:
• 2 Love Seats and decorative cushions
• 1 Wing Chair
• Two 3-drawer Dressers
• 1 small storage cabinet
• 1 Colour Television
BATHROOM/LAUNDRY FACILITIES:
• For your private use, bathtub/shower, sink/counter, towels and plenty of storage space
• Laundry facilities, (washer and dryer) located in the bathroom, are for the general use of the household.
KITCHEN:
• Fully equipped. Meals can be prepared by us or you.
Kitchen is closed for cooking after 7 PM but cold food available as needed.
Tidying up after use is your responsibility unless we are eating together, in which case, tidying up is shared.
Three meals can be provided - your choice. If you choose to have meals, add $300.00 to the monthly rent.
