Welcome! My name is Vicki Stairs and I live with my husband, Jonathan, who works in tech in San Francisco, I work from home. We have been hosting internationals and adult professionals from around the world since 2012 and are very easy to get along with.
We have a great room available in our 3-bed/2-bath Victorian home. Shared spaces: Livingroom, Kitchen, Dining room, Patio and Yard. The main bathroom is primarily yours. Our home is beautiful, clean and has a large grassy yard with gardens, BBQ, fire pit & patio table.
Rent includes: utilities, Wi-Fi, laundry (with soaps), mini-frig/freezer in your room, large monitor/TV, and cable channels. We've taught English language and American culture classes and are willing to help with any cultural or language issues you may encounter.
I love to cook and will always have comfort foods and fresh veggies from my garden (when available), if you decide to take the food option. I will give you a tour of the kitchen and answer any questions you may have regarding appliances.
We live in a nice neighborhood, a good community, and it’s very safe. We are centrally located on the island so it’s walking distance to shopping, farmers markets, cafes, libraries, great restaurants, wine tasting rooms and micro-brewery pubs.
We have long sandy beaches (10-min walk from our home) with amazing views of San Francisco. Our streets are safe and easy to walk or ride a bike (house bike available for island use). It’s easy to get anywhere: just 10-minutes away from a Ferry Station, 2 blocks away from bus stop & close to 880 (about 30-mins to San Francisco/10-mins to Oakland. We enjoy doing a lot of outdoor activities with our guests and have enjoyed going sightseeing, on weekends away to the wine country, Monterey and camping in the Sierras (weather permitting).
We are an easy-going and flexible couple. House rules are simple: Respect the house, treat others like you want to be treated and enjoy your stay in the beautiful Bay Area.
