I've hosted students for over ten years and was myself, when I first came to Canada, a student who stayed in a homestay. I liked the experience, it is a win-win, the family and the student get great things from it - income / affordable housing, experience family live in Canada/learning from another culture, etc.
My house is in Cambridge, Ontario, close to Conestoga College, Doon campus.
As I was an international student once, I care about your experience and do my best for you to be comfortable and happy at my place.
I'm originally from Mexico, have lived in Canada for 18 years. I love travelling and have been to the US, France, Spain, UK, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Chile, Venezuela, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore. I love learning about other cultures. My daughter (14 years old) and myself speak English, Spanish and French.
I do some volunteer work, normally related to newcomers or the Latin community. I am very social and enjoy meeting up with friends. I love swimming and water skying - too bad I don't do it that frequently. I also enjoy ice-skating, table games, cycling - though I'm afraid of cycling in the streets....
