Our homestay is a couple of bus stops away from the University of Toronto (UTSC) and Centennial College. Aside from the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, we are also close to the Guild Park and Gardens located on the Scarborough Bluffs. The Toronto Zoo and Rouge Beach Park are also close by. We are within walking distance of the Morningside Park (Toronto's largest public park).
We decided to become homestay hosts because we are interested in learning more about other people's culture and sharing our own as well. We will treat the students like our own kids and help them achieve their objectives. Our goal is to make sure they feel at home and their stay is a worthwhile and enjoyable one.
We are a part of a big extended family of in-laws and cousins who love to get together and have fun. I’m generally a homebody but the rest of the family likes going out. So during spare time, I would usually end up driving around the place with my wife and daughter anyway --- to go window shopping, take selfies in the park or attend free events. My son and his girlfriend usually spend their lazy afternoons in the nearby beach/lake or at the zoo. Although our homestay students are always welcome to join us in any of our activities, we do respect them if they otherwise prefer not to.
By the way, we have a pet dog (American Eskimo) we'd also like you to meet. At first, she's a little protective and territorial when seeing strangers. But given proper introductions, she'll probably be your BFF in no time. Otherwise, we'll make sure she stays away if that's your preference.
Most of our rooms are booked on a month-to-month basis and could become available at any given day.
