Welcome to Our Family Homestay!

We're the Singh family – a warm and welcoming household consisting of myself (Leah), my husband Nish, our energetic 7-year-old son Ari, and our two beloved feline companions, Dolly & Jax. Nish comes from a Fijian background and mine is European Canadian. Together, we create a lively and loving environment that we're excited to share with exchange students from around the world.

For us, running a homestay is about more than just providing accommodation; it's about building connections and fostering cultural understanding. We believe that by opening our home to exchange students, we can create meaningful experiences that promote empathy, curiosity, and lifelong friendships.

Both me and my husband's parents hosted home stays while growing up for several years, and it was an enriching journey for our family. We now want to open up our home and carry on the tradition!

My husband and I have travelled alot throughout our lives. We've visited multiple countries in Asia (Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia), Australia, Fiji, USA, France, and Spain.

Interests and Hobbies:
As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, having friends and family over for gatherings, baking yummy treats, or simply playing in our backyard. We all love to read books and we have a nice collection you can pick from! Nish enjoys gardening, going for runs, and chatting business. Ari loves playing sports and hide and seek, and making people laugh.

Rules of the House:

Respect and kindness are fundamental values in our home. We treat each other and our guests with empathy and consideration.

Communication is key. We encourage open dialogue and value honest and transparent conversations.

Keep shared spaces clean and tidy.

Guests are welcome to use designated areas and amenities

Safety is our top priority. We maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone in the household.

Things to note: The bathroom listed in the homestay room is on our main level right next to the bedroom. When we have friends or family over, or if we are downstairs, we will use the bathroom, but the shower will only be used by you, no one else uses it.

The cats love to be pet and and are very affectionate. We do keep them out of the guest room at all time, but if you're comfortable with them coming in to say hello, that is up to you!

The room has been newly painted and all bedding, furniture, and TV are brand new.

Every week we have our house cleaner come and clean all the bathrooms, floors, and surfaces.
