My Name is Tia
My family and I have been hosting International Students in our home for many years now. We have hosted students from many different countries.
The exchange of cultures, hobbies, stories are always different and fascinating. Not to mention long term friendships we maintain down the road....
A little information about us.
We have a large home which you see as my cover page photo, our home has 4 fully furnished bedrooms, with desk, chair, dresser and tv, our home has 2 full bathrooms, a comfortable eat in kitchen, a large dinning room where we like to have our family dinners and of course our living room where we like to watch movies on our large screenTV. Movie nights are a big thing in our home.
Our home also has a second separate living room with another TV and office space for little more quiet times. We also have a full laundry facilities in the lower level where we do our laundry and have storage space.
Our back yard is fenced in and we have a hot tub and BBQ on our patio deck and garden table and chairs to sit and relax on a lovely sunny day.
Our home is very close a lovely park and it is close to safe bicycle paths, in the winter we also have a lovely outdoor skating rink in the park which is open all winter time. Lots of walking paths around with little pond close-by where we feed the birds and ducks. We are close to many amenities, schools, libraries, Tim Horton coffee place and many more.
We also have a country cottage which we like to retreat to on weekends and holidays which we share with our students if they wish to explore the country side and enjoy swimming, canoeing, hiking or kayaking as our cottage is on a lovely lake front. We also like to explore the country side roads with our ATVs (all terrain vehicles)
We like to include our students in all our family events/activities like they are part of our own family.
We offer the service of airport pick-up and drop-off to assist upon arrival or departure. We can also assist you with transportation services for the first few days to and from school/college/university so that you get familiar with our transportation services. I am very familiar with the different Embassies and Govt offices should assistance be required with student passport inquiries or Visas. I am also very resourceful in securing translation services if required.
Please note that both our home and country cottage are all smoke free.
