Welcome!

Hi, my name is Helena, and I’m excited to open my home to international students or travelling nurses looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and accessible place to stay while they study or work here.

I live here with my small dog Lily, who is 14 years old. She’s much like a cat—quiet, independent, and usually relaxing by the window.

My home is very special to me: it’s clean, spacious, and stylish. The homestay room includes a queen bed, fresh linens, your own bathroom, bath towels (stored in the closet), and lots of storage for your belongings. You’ll also have a ceiling fan, A/C, and a TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime. The homestay area is semi-private, with your own entrance and bathroom. Laundry is conveniently located in the front hallway.

‍ Kitchen & Workspace Use:

Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking, but please note the dining table is for meals only and not to be used for studying or extended activities.
A desk can be provided either inside your room or in the front hallway if you need a dedicated workspace, just let me know :).

I decided to host because I genuinely enjoy learning about different cultures and sharing my own. I’ve traveled extensively myself—living and working in different countries, including my time with a Middle Eastern airline in my early 20s. I’ve been to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, a few countries in Africa and the Middle East. I understand what it’s like to arrive in a new country, and I strive to make my home a calm, welcoming space where guests can feel comfortable and at ease.

Right now, I work remotely for my family’s company and am currently learning Italian in preparation to study art in Italy. In my spare time, I enjoy art, cooking, yoga, hiking, and puzzling. I know lots of great tips for indoor and outdoor activities around Vancouver.

* Overnight guests are not allowed unless discussed in advance
* Respect for each other’s privacy, space, and culture is very important
* Dining table is for eating meals only; desk/workspace provided elsewhere
*You are responsible for your own laundry and laundry detergent
