Hello,
My name is Shirley, and I've been running a homestay in Calgary since 2016. Hosting international students has been one of the most enriching aspects of my life. I've had the pleasure of welcoming students from Japan, Russia, Brazil, Philippines and Taiwan, and I truly enjoy creating a safe and cozy space where young people can feel supported while they pursue their education abroad.
Our home is filled with warmth, laughter, and love for culture. I'm passionate about nature and often go on long drives to explore scenic spots across Alberta. I also enjoy cooking, singing, reading, walking, camping, boating, and of course, eating good food. I love sharing stories and meals and learning from each student's unique background.
House Rules and Atmosphere
I strive to maintain a peaceful and clean environment for everyone. I kindly ask all homestay guests to
- Keep shared spaces tidy - especially the bathroom, kitchen, and dining room.
- Be respectful of quiet times
- Participate in daily light routines like helping clean up after meals.
- Communicate openly - whether you need help, or just want to chat :)
Cleanliness is more important to me, as it helps ensure we all enjoy a comfortable and healthy home :)
