Hello International Student!
We are the Kong family and we have been homestay hosts for over 15 years. Our family includes parents, and 2 children (21 & 19). We live and work on a small hobby farm. Our home also has international farm workers and sometimes additional International students. It is a very quiet area with lots of families, sheep and chickens! We are walking distance to Camosun Interurban Campus, 5 minutes to the bus stop and 30 minutes bus ride to downtown.
Mrs. Kong was an international student herself with Rotary International when she was 17 and our children like getting to know all about new nationalities. We are leaders and members of 4-H (a youth development organization) and attend church regularly on Sundays at Saanich Baptist Church (you are welcome to join us or not as you are interested)
Our family likes to hike, bike and camp. We spend a lot of time out doors with our farm animals and in our big garden. Much of our food is produced here, as we are very interested in healthy living and eating. We eat dinner together most nights about 5:30pm, which is when we spend time talking and sharing about our day. This is a good time to practice English for you!
