Homestay in 加拿大 － Winnipeg
For ten years I have had students from many countries live with me and my daughter. We have a quiet house. We live close to the river and an icecream shop. In the summer, people walk through the neighbourhood with their icecream, looking at gardens including mine which is lovely.
There is a lot of privacy in my house with three floors. I have a new kitchen and it is enjoyable to cook in it. I have two beautiful fluffy cats. They are very friendly.
The neighbourhood is very quiet and you feel like you are in the country, day and night. Close by there is a meditation hall and neighbours are welcome to participate in the classes held there. It is a 10 minute walk to rapid transit to the University of Manitoba. It is a 25 minute walk to restaurants and bars with live music.
I went to graduate school in the US many years ago. I worked in the UK for a year and lived there with my family. I have travelled all over Canada and I have lived in different provinces. I have travelled in the US and Mexico. I have travelled to many European countries.
Everyone who lives here is expected to clean up after themselves: their dishes, their rooms, their bathroom. I expect people to be respectful of the furnishings etc. I like to entertain and normally people are welcome to join. There is no smoking of cigarettes or marijuana in or around the house. We do not drink very much alcohol.
I am quite active and enjoy walking and cycling.I am environementally consious and am quite concerned about climate change and animal welfare. I belong to the Unitarian Church .
I work virtually and often work from home in my office.
