We are Chuck & Laurie Lewis living in beautiful sunny San Diego California! We have been hosting students since 2006 and we enjoy meeting new people from other countries! We treat our students like part of the family as we try to help them with their English and teach them how to take the local transportation and the bus system. We are both musicians and love music, camping, movies, the beach and our Homestay students!
We have wifi, a large living room, a big backyard, 1 nice bedroom with lots of space and a “mini suite” with kitchen, private bath and private laundry facility which will be available in 2020! We are close to the bus stop! Don't let the list of schools on this page and the time it lists to get to your school confuse you because there is a pathway next to our house with a 5 minute walk to the 44 bus stop that is NOT shown on Google maps! Also, if you have a morning schedule we will drive you to the 41 bust stop or 50 bust stop most days as a courtesy to our hard working students. You’re welcome! We are in the Clairemont area which is in the heart of San Diego and centrally located to everything in San Deigo! Easy access to the Beach, Downtown, Fashion Valley Shopping and Old Town!
Ideal for students going to UCSD, Kaplan College, UCSD Extension all downtown San Diego English schools: International House, Stafford House, Francas Parker, CISL, ELS, ESL, LSI, CEL, CES, CIBU, Q International, SDUIS, SDIAE, INTRAX, Embassy).
Centrally located minutes to any area of San Diego by bus or bicycle, we are close to the 805, 52 & 163 freeways and the nearest bus stop is just 3-4 minute walk from home. We have ample parking if you plan to rent a car! Uber and Lyft is also convenient in this area and always accessible and available!
We are close to restaurants, shopping, hospital, and transportation. Walmart, LA Fitness Center and Starbucks is just a 10-15 minute walk from our home!
We have one 11x12 bedroom with a very large closet and it’s exclusively for Homestay hospitality. Towels sheets blankets hairdryer are all provided for this room that is attached to our home. This is a full service homestay. Night Stand, Dresser, Desk, Chair, Wireless (WIFI) Internet connection & access to Washer Dryer (includes laundry detergent) Breakfast and dinner is included as well as a private bathroom that will be mostly for your exclusive use except for our occasional guests who will use it as a restroom when we have a visitor. Limited kitchen use (we prepare dinner and you may prepare your breakfast and lunch with light cooking or microwave) We only ask that you clean up after yourself & tidy up the kitchen after use! We have a small refrigerator and pantry just for our students personal use for those extra snacks and special foods you might like to purchase! We have a very nice large yard to relax or study outdoors within WiFi range.

”MINI SUITE” will soon be available! This very beautiful unit includes queen size bed, cable TV, private bathroom with walk-in shower, a mini kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, cooktop and a washer and dryer. This is a studio apartment. It is attached to our home but you will have a private entrance and no access to our main house. The entrance door also leads to a private backyard yard patio. We rent this studio apartment on a weekly rate. The mini suite will not be available until 2020. Pictures will be posted soon!!!
We are looking for a mature responsible individuals with no kids, clean, non-smoker. No drugs, parties, aggressive behavior. English spoken in our home!!!
