Homestay in 加拿大 － 卡尔加里
We are family of 5 who enjoy the outdoors. We have a teenaged daughter, and twins who are 9. We have a small, quiet dog, and a cat, which are not allowed in the basement. We have just hosted a young student and his mother from Hong Kong and it was a wonderful experience for the entire family. We learned a lot about Chinese culture, look forward to many more opportunities. Our primary language is English.
Our home is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood on the west edge of the city. Minutes away by walking are a public library, coffee shops, a movie theatre, grocery stores, pubs, restaurants, banks, specialty clothing stores, and much more. A five minute bus ride will take you to a recreational centre, with swimming, running track, gymnasiums, skating rink, and workout facilities. The same bus takes you to the C-train station which provides access to the whole city, such as downtown, SAIT, and the University of Calgary. We are close to Ernest Manning High School, and a bus ride to Mount Royal University or Ambrose University.
Supper is our family meal, and is a freshly cooked meal. If you aren't able to join us, a plate will be left in the fridge for you. Breakfast will be cereal and toast, and lunch can be prepared in the evening. You will have access to the kitchen to cook if you wish, and the fresh fruit bowl is available. If there are any meals you would like made, we will try to do so.
Your room has a queen sized bed, which can sleep up to two people, with a dresser, night stand and lamps, and a closet. It is a well-lit room in our basement. The private bathroom (shower/bathtub/toilet/sink/towels) is separate, and just down the hallway. A desk can be provided in your room, and you also can study upstairs in our front room, which allows for privacy. You also have the private use of the television in the basement, and access to the main floor dining room, kitchen, laundry facilities, and family room. We have WIFI.
